PURPOSE:To have excellent dispersibility widely for general binders and to provide excellent wear resistance to a magnetic layer and oxidation stability to the magnetic layer when metallic magnetic powder is used by incorporating a specific surface active agent and the other specific compd. at the specific weight % by the weight of said agent into the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:An amine surface active agent and the sulfosuccinic acid compd. expressed by the formula I at the specific weight % by the weight of said agent are incorporated into a magnetic layer by which advantage is taken of the functions of the sulfosuccinic acid comp. in the magnetic layer, namely, the function that said compd. can provide an excellent magnetic characteristic or electromagnetic conversion to magnetic powder by improving the packing and orienting properties of the magnetic powder by the excellent dispersing effect is effectively utilized; in addition, the disadvantages thereof, i.e., the drawbacks of decreasing the binding power between the magnetic powder and a binder, decreasing the wear resistance by oozing on the surface of the magnetic layer and causing dislodging of the magnetic powder, and causing inter-layer tack particularly at a high temp. and consequent deterioration in high-temp. preservability are eliminated. Moreover, oxidation stability of the magnetic layer contg. the metallic magnetic powder is improved.
