<p>Portable gas detector has a device for taking a sample of air to be analysed using a conduit (I) passing through the detector near a gas-sensitive element. The detector also has a water-absorbing device (II) associated with (I). (II) comprises a valve which is so arranged that when the pressure in (I) falls, and water is accidentally sucked in with an air sample, the valve interrupts the flow of the water-contg. sample in the conduit (I). Pref. (II) is a diaphragm valve, arranged upstream of (I). Used esp. for detecting natural gas and synthetic gases in the atmosphere.</p> |
