PURPOSE:To enable to cope with changes in information to be printed, restrictions on printing positions or the like, by providing an interface-controlling part for controlling an interface for a host device, a printing part controller and a printing part. CONSTITUTION:Stamping data formed by the host device 1 are sent to the interface-controlling part 2 for controlling electrical and functional interface for the device 1. The data are transferred to the printing part controller 3, which arranges the stamping data in a predetermined format. A lamp 11 as a light source for positioning a medium to be stamped is so set as to roughly indicate a stamping-starting position of the medium, whereby the medium 10 can be easily set in position by referring to the position of the light source. During stamping, a printing head 8 is moved arbitrarily on the basis of a moving command. Accordingly, by forming arbitrary stamping data for each medium 10, stamping can be performed according to various formats. |
