A discus-type toy 10 is configured by a circular piece of fabric, which has a pleated, downward directed, hemmed edge 14. A strand of small metal weights 28, arranged at regular distance from each other, is fastened inside the hem. The arrangement can be worn as headgear or be folded or crumpled up for safekeeping. When the arrangement is thrown and given a rotational motion, the arrangement stretches out by the action of centrifugal force on the weights, so that it exhibits aerodynamic properties which extend the flight of the arrangement and give it an effective trajectory.
