The rear of the light truck is protected by a collision frame slung under the chassis on sprung mountings and fitted with an elastic bumper strip (21) running across the rear of the vehicle. The frame is slung from the chassis on trailing link arms (6, 8) so that it is displaced when struck. The frame prevents small vehicles from sliding under the chassis in a rear collision. It also protects the truck when reversing against walls and loading platforms.
