The stethoscope gives easier auscultation of l.f. resonance components. It has a holder for an additional weight on the breast-piece. Different weights can be accommodated, being held in place by permanent or electromagnets, clips or screws. Weighting can alternatively be achieved by fitting breast-pieces of differing weights. The design allows l.f. heart sounds to be heard more easily.
