<p>The radar device has an integrator (5) for increasing the signal to clutter ratio by integrating pulses or groups of pulses received from an azimuth direction during integration intervals in which two decorrelated point target successes occur. Very efficient clutter suppression is achieved using a polarisation decorrelation method and a polarisation-diversity method. The azimuthal transceiver is fitted electronically several times during each rotation or tilt cycle of a mechanically driven azimuth antenna with an average tilt speed much greater than the mechanical speed. A second transmitter operates during the tilt periods. The integrator (5) incorporates a delay element (7) summation unit (8), garaged switches (S1, S2) and a ring loop (R).</p> |
