<p>The Zn flake content ref. is 5-90%, and the paint may also contain other normal constituents. The paint is used for melt-galvanised steel pts. which have been damaged by abrasion, sawing, welding etc. and need protection from rust or for ungalvanised parts e.g. screws and bolts. Typically the paint contained 45 (wt) pts. epoxy-ester resin, 25 pts. Zn flake, 13 pts. Al paste (65% Al powder in white spirit), 9 pts. xylene, 6 pts. thickener, 0.2 pts antiskinning agent and 0.4 pt. dryer. It kept for ca. a year, could be applied in thicknesses of at least 80 um.</p> |
