A liquid, curable preparation comprising a) a liquid epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent weight from 185 to 210, b) 20 to 50 % by weight, based on the weight of the epoxy resin, of a filler, c) a dispersant for the filler in an amount sufficient to prevent sedimentation of the filler, and d) a hardener of the accompanying formula I where n is at least 2, is suitable for producing uniform, tough adherent coatings on metallic or non-metallic surfaces. The coatings prepared using these preparations are also notable for excellent resistance to chemicals such as jet fuel, gasoline, heating oil and solvents. They also exhibit high compressive strength, low shrinkage rate, good heat resistance, satisfactory thermal expansion and good adhesion. <IMAGE>
