<p>For consolidating materials used in underground construction or road building, by tamping or vibration, the machine is fitted with a plate-shaped tool, drivable to and from sideways and in a set direction, in stages. The tool is divided into two or more groups of plate units, with one or more units in each. These are connected to a drive motor so as to be alternately and successively supported on the ground, in the course of movement. In the other stage of their movement they carry out a step of predetermined length in the line of progress. This prevents subsidence of ground already compacted, and achieves even distribution of consolidation on varying degrees of slope.</p> |
