Filter for oil separation from water - contains filter material in mesh bags for easy replacement

Oil is separated from impure water by passing it through a bed of filter material to which the residual oil forms a bond. The filter material is filled in mesh bages of a shape to suit the contours of the container. This saves the manual labour of shovelling the filter material out and replacing it by fresh material. This work can now be done by a lifting appliance. Wash-outs of the filter bed surface are also eliminated.
