PURPOSE:To obtain a composite material having an electron-conjugated polymer layer uniformly formed on a surface in a short time, by contacting a surface of a material for electro-conductive treatment with a treating liquid having oxidative polymerization activity, etc., and contacting the other surface with vapor of a monomer capable of forming an electron-conjugated polymer, thereby polymerizing the monomer. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a plastic material for electro-conductive treatment is brought into contact with a treating liquid having oxidative polymerization activity and a dopant activity (a mixture of an acceptor dopant and an oxidative polymerization agent) and the other surface is made to contact with vapor of a monomer capable of forming an electron-conjugated polymer. The monomer is polymerized by this process to impart electrical conductivity to the treating material by integrating the material with the electron-conjugated polymer of the monomer. The treating material is a plastic film or plastic sheet and the monomer is selected from pyrrole, thiophene, furan and indole.
