The sanding machine with suction comprises a rotary plate (2) to which an abrasive disc is fastened. In order efficiently to evacuate the sanding dust, the sanding disc comprises a series of openings placed opposite corresponding openings (6) made through the rotary plate (2) and communicating with a depression chamber (10) connected to a vacuum source via an orifice (13) fitted with a regulator. In order to prevent the inlet of air between the depression chamber and the rotary plate, the depression chamber ends at its lower part in a flexible skirt (3), the lower edge of which is contiguous with the rotary plate. The sanding machine is used, for example, in the automotive industry for sanding bodywork. <IMAGE>
