Safe animal stunning circuit - uses pulsed DC stun voltages and measures resistance between electrodes

The stunning circuit has a sensor measuring the electrical resistance between two electrodes and initiating the application of the stun voltage to the electrodes when the resistance measured lies below a given limit. The stun voltage is a pulsed d.c. voltage whose mark/space ratio is less than 1. A monitor (22) detects when a stun voltage is present when it should not be in the circuit formed by the electrode terminals (27, 28), the control unit (20) that applies the stun voltage and the detector (21). The advantage lies in the user's being protected from the stun voltage.
