PURPOSE:To locate a relay line faulty section by providing a code generating circuit and a timing lock discrimination circuit and sending a prescribed code data signal of the code generating circuit unidirectionally so as to send a fixed pattern at the interruption of an input signal. CONSTITUTION:When an input signal A is interrupted, a since no timing clock is extracted at a timing extraction circuit 5, a clock discrimination circuit 11 detects it to start the code generating circuit 12 and to apply switching control to a switch 4. Since other input signal B exists, a clock from a timing extraction circuit 10 exists and the code generating circuit 12 uses the said clock to generate a code data registered and predetermined synchronously with the said clock. The code data is sent to the 2-way repeater of the next stage via the switch 4. Thus, the code data is discriminated at the post-stage to locate a faulty section of the relay line.
