<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently melt away the solidified metal sticking to the inside wall of a degassing vessel in a short period of time by emptying the degassing vessel upon ending of a degassing treatment, inserting pipes into the vessel and blowing a gas essentially consisting of oxygen directly to the solidified metal sticking to the wall. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel is discharged to the outside of the degassing vessel 10 to put the inside of the vessel 10 into an empty state upon ending of the degassing treatment of the molten steel. Electrodes and shooters are respectively removed from holes 20 for inserting the electrodes and holes 18 for charging alloys and the pipes 30 are respectively inserted into the vessel so that the front ends of the pipes 30 face the solidified metal 24 sticking to the inside wall of the vessel. The gaseous oxygen having about 97-98% purity is supplied in this state through the pipes 30 and is directly blown to the solidified metal 24 to melt away the metal. The solidified metal 24 sticking to the inside wall of the vessel is thereby efficiently removed in a short period of time and the temp. drop in the vessel is suppressed.</p> |
