The combination, in a railway vehicle, of a housing containing a cylindrical bearing liner engaging the end of an axle 10, the housing 13 providing a lubricant reservoir and external ribs 16 on the housing to engage internal grooves 22 in a journal box 21 secured to the vehicle chassis to locate the housing and box in directions parallel to the longitudinal axis of the axle.
