PURPOSE:To safely and quickly measure the concn. of antigens and antibodies with high sensitivity and high reliability by dispersing magnetic particles immobi lized with antibodies or antigens conjugating specifically with the antigens or antibodies into a sample liquid, agglutinating the antigen-antibody-magnetic particles at a magnetic field, interrupting the magnetic field and measuring the concn. of the agglutinated lumps. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic particles immobilized with the antibodies and antigens which conjugate specifically with the antigens and antibodies are dis persed into the liquid sample to form the antigen-antibody-magnetic particles by the antigen-antibody reaction. The magnetic field is applied to such sample liquid to agglutinate the antigen-antibody-magnetic particle conjugates and to form the agglutinated lumps. The application of the magnetic field is then stopped and the pulverized magnetic particles immobilized with the unreacted antibodies or antigens are dispersed into the sample liquid; thereafter, the concn. of the agglutinated lumps suspended in the sample liquid is measured. A method for utilizing an image sensor is preferable for measuring the agglutinated lumps. |
