PURPOSE:To effect the landing reliably in a correct position without bringing a landing rod into contact with the sea bottom by providing a fin-shaped landing position control member which protrudes from the upper side of the scavenging portion of cable locator. CONSTITUTION:A landing position control member 6, which is composed of a frame 7 having a tapered end portion, a Y-shaped pole 8, a resisting plate having a Y-shaped cross-section, is attached to the upper side of a scavenging portion equipped with scavenging blades 21 to 2n. If a cable locator is suspended and lowered by a tracting rope 3, the member 6 of the cable locator is liable to float by the resistance of water, when the lower portion of the locator enters the water, because a vessel 10 is advancing at a low speed in the direction of arrow. Since the weight of the scavenging portion 2 is larger than that of the control member 6, the locator is inclined horizontally with its portion 2 directed downward. After that, the locator is lowered to the sea bottom while maintaining that condition. Thus, without any use of the landing rod, the locator can be landed on the bottom with such a correct position with its portion 2 directed downward. |
