Manufg. method of polyethyleneterephthalate filaments for cords of radial tire, bias tire and v-belt was described. Undrawn filaments having>=90 mole % repeating unit of ethylene terephthalate, ultimate viscosity 0.55-0.75 in o-chlorophenol 25≦̸C, and index of double refraction<=120x10-5 were drawn 350-450% at 60-100≦̸C, 650-750% in a gas bath at 230-310≦̸C, and then treated in a gas bath at 280-400≦̸C under shrinkage 2-8%.
