BURNER WITH ADJUSTABLY MOUNTED ATOMIZER Disclosed is a burner adapted for use as a coal fired burner including a cylindrical housing for receiving fuel and having an outlet for discharging the fuel. A tube is disposed upstream of the outlet and extends through a wall of the housing. The tube has one end connected to a source of combustion-supporting fluid and the other end communicating with the interior of the housing for discharging the fluid in a direction substantially tangential to the inner wall of the housing, the fluid imparting a swirl to the fuel discharging from the outlet. Support means are provided for adjustably mounting the tube relative to the wall of the housing for movement of the tube in two orthogonal planes. One of the planes is substantially parallel to the direction of fuel flow through the housing and the other of the planes is substantially perpendicular to the fuel flow direction.
