In a circuit arrangement for a program-controlled switching centre (EDS), the aim is to relieve effectively the load on the switching centre (EDS) in terms of the identification and processing of signalling data. For this purpose, the signalling data are checked in monitoring circuits (MC1 to MCn) containing microprocessors (CPU) for the presence of specific bit combinations in order to transmit alarm signals to the switching centre (EDS) if such bit combinations are present. Corresponding signalling data can be transmitted under the control of the microprocessors (CPU) when instruction signals arrive from the switching centre (EDS). The main use of the circuit arrangement is in the field of program-controlled data switching.
