In a clamping device for clamping a tool (1) in a carrier (2), a fitting pin (3) is connected to the tool (1) and a fitting bore (4) is connected to the carrier (2). The fitting pin (3) can be inserted into the fitting bore (4) and can be secured in place there. To secure the fitting pin (3), a locking body (7) is mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner in a radial transverse recess (6) of the fitting pin (3). The locking body (7) has a plane inclined surface (9, 10) at its two end faces. The two inclined surfaces (9, 10) form an acute angle (11) closing in the direction of the tool (1) and, by displacement of the locking body (7) relative to the inner wall (8) of the fitting bore (4), can be brought into coplanar contact with a mating surface arranged on the latter. <IMAGE>
