<p>NEW MATERIAL:Substituted cyclopropanecarboxylic esters of formula I (X is Cl, Br; Y is H, methyl; R is formula II and others; R<1> is alkenyl, alkadienyl, alkynyl, benzyl). EXAMPLE:3-Phenoxybenzyl 2, 2-dimethyl-3-( 2, 2-dichloropropyl )cyclopropane carboxylate. USE:Insecticide; it has effect on injurious insects in agriculture or horticulture as leafhopper, in rice storage as rice weevil and in sanitary as housfly and low toxicity against human, animals and fishes, being suitably applied to rice paddy because of its light stability. PREPARATION:A compound of formula III (R' is lower alkyl) is hydrolyzed to form its free carboxylic acid, which is treated with a halogenation reagent as thionyl bromide to form the carboxyl halide of formula IV, on which an alcohol of ROH is made to act in the presence of a tertiary amine to give the compound of formula I.</p> |
