The part submerged breakwater may be used to protect the support legs of maritime structures, being of a relatively low tonnage by comparison with the vol defined by its profile. Floatability is assured by the submerged elements with narrow full height floats provided at each corner, the water line being relatively high and the flotation reserve relatively low. The unit may comprise a framed structure of rectangular plan, having a ramped face supported between two longitudinal trussed girders. Narrow gap centred planks span horizontally across the ramped surface, also being provided on a landing and a part-submerged aft vertical face.
