<p>The vessel cover has an instrument eg. tongs for extracting items such as ice cubes, sugar lumps etc from the vessel. The instrument is detachably mounted under the cover by devices allowing rapid and easy fixing and removal. Typically these can be magnets, the instrument being of metal attracted by them, while the magnets are mounted between the underside of the cover and a double-bottom, the latter typically of synthetic material, to which the magnets are glued. Datum marks can be provided on the outside face of the double-bottom, to aid correct positioning of the instrument.</p> |
