Electrical discharge machining of cylindrical surface - by varying working current at cylinder ends to uniformly satinise latter(s)
摘要

Outer surface of cylinder is satinised using electrical discharge machining by rotating the cylinder and moving at least one electrode in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the cylinder. A pulse voltage is applied across the electrode. When each end of the cylinder is being worked the working current per unit working area of the cylinder is maintained constant by decreasing the working current as the working area decreases so that the outer surface at each end of the cylinder is uniformly satinised. The current may be varied by varying the off time of the pulses.
