<p>A multistage pusher-type of centrifuge, for use in dewatering sugar beet tops and fragments, has pref. two coaxially revolving screens, one of which can be moved axially relative to the other. Both screens revolve around a vertical axis. The feed is charged through a central funnel which is axially movable; the solids are discharged through a horizontal outlet above the outer screen drum. This creates a power saving means of predrying the sugar beet tops which new laws forbid to be stored outdoors; the dried material can now be sold as animal fodder.</p> |
