The bullet-proof window frame includes fixed (1) and movable sections (2) for sliding armour plated windows (9), having slabs (8) of bullet-proof aluminium alloy bonded to either their internal or their external faces. The joint (6) between the fixed and the movable members may be formed by parallel inclined or stepped faces in the protective slab (8). The faces may be inclined at 45 deg. to the normal to the major window plane, or may align with the normal and inc. a single right angled step. The angled faces may return to the normal for a terminal length or may inc. a normal intermediate length.
