PURPOSE:To improve a degree of cross polarization discrimination by reducing the coupling between polarized waves by providing a circular curved waveguide with a phase shifter which reduces a phase difference between two orthogonal polarized waves generated and a cross polarization compensator which cancels a cross polarization component. CONSTITUTION:In circular curved waveguide 1, since the phase of a y-polarized wave leads that of a x-polarized wave, the phase of (y)-polarized wave is delayed by setting dielectric plate 3 of phase shifter 2 in parallel to the electric field of the (y)-polarized wave, thereby making the (x)-polarized wave nearly in phase with the (y)-polarized wave at the output of phase shifter 2. In this way, the generation of elliptic polarized waves is suppressed and a cross polarized wave generated depending upon the work accuracy of waveguide 1 and phase shifter 2 is canceled by using cross polarization compensator 4 composed of a circular waveguide capable of generating the reverse cross polarized wave component of it. Consequently, the cross polarization discrimination will be improved by adding a phase shifter and cross polarization compensator. |
