<p>Dust- and flame-resistant filter material used in underground mining comprises coated, ceramic, fibres with high SiO2-contents, specifically glass-fibres with SiO2-contents exceeding 80%. The coating comprises or contains a silicone obtd. by immersing the filter material, at elevated temp., into a silicone oil, and drying. Alternatively, immersion into liq. or dispersed silicone resin is suitable, followed by heat-treatment. Before immersion, the filter material is treated with gaseous silane.</p> |
