The shovel has a blade of aluminium or aluminium alloy. At its front edge, the blade carries a one side reinforcement. The reinforcement consists of one or more layers of sprayed metal consisting of an alloy which contains chromium up to at least 13%, with a melting point of 1500 deg.C and a hardness of 300 HB. The front edge (6), connecting strips (7, 8) and limiting side edges (9, 10) are pref. provided with the metal spray coating.
