<p>The angle of incidence is measured relative to a fixed or movable reference line, esp. the central line of an armoured vehicle. At least four pulse detectors are used, spaced by 90P in a horizontal plane and connected to display device. Detector (C1-C4) signals are converted into logarithmically proportional voltages, and the quadrant in which the angle of incidence lies is determined by the detectors. The logarithmic voltage corresponding to the greatest detector (C1) signal is converted into a reference voltage. The next highest voltage from detector (C2) is converted into a fraction of the reference voltage, its antilogarithm found and the exact angle of incidence derived from the ratio of the reference voltage and the antilogarithmic voltage, and displayed in a display (18).</p> |
