PURPOSE:A belt with rugged patterns is hung over pressure rolls and revolved, so that a recipient sheet brought into contact with the belt can receive the patterns required only by changing the sheet without using the expensive emboss-roll. CONSTITUTION:For instance, a belt 3 having rugged patterns made of metal, fibers and plastics, is hung over the pressure roll 4 and another roll 6. The rolls 4 and 6 are rotated in the direction of the arrow to move the belt 3 while a sheet 2 such as a thermoplastic one is inserted between the belt 3 and the roll 5 to produce a rugged pattern 1 on the sheet 2. EFFECT:As the repetition of rugged patterns is long, those obtained look quite natural.
