The arrangement is intended for securing a valve seat (2) in a housing (1). The housing has a recess (6) with a shoulder (7) to support a seal ring (8) and an internal screw thread (5). The valve seat has an external screw thread (12) on a considerably smaller dia. One of the two threads has a slightly smaller pitch than the other. The seat is secured by a screw ring (15) with corresponding external and internal screw threads, which is screwed into the gap between the seat and recess. The thread pitch on the seat may be 3mm whilst that in the housing is 2mm.
