Difficultly inflammable fibres of propylene polymers (contg. up to 10 wt.% ethylene as comonomer) contain 0.5-10 (&ref. 1-3) wt.% 1,3,5-tris-(2,3-dibromopropyl)-2,4,6-trioxo-hexahydrotriazine (A), 0.15-3.5 (pref. 0.3-1) wt.% Sb2O3 (B), and for each mole of (A), 0.05-1.5 (pref. 0.1-3) moles of an organo-Sn cpd. of formula R1R2SnXY (I) (where R1 and R2 are (cyclo)alkyl; and X and Y are (cyclo)alkyl, an organic acid gp. opt. contg. a further esterified COOH gp., an inorganic acid gp., thioalkyl opt. carrying an aliphatic alcohol-esterified COOH gp.; or X and Y together are -O-, a dibasic (in)org. acid gp. or -S(CH2)n-COO- in which n is 1 or 2). (I) stabilises (A) without impairing the flame-retardant activity of (A). Corrosion of spinning apparatus and odour at high temps. are prevented.
