The diisocyanates are of formula R-CO-NH-(CH2)4-(CH3)-CH2-R'-CH2NH-COR (I) where R is II or -O-N=C. (CH3)2; together with their mixtures contg. 0.6% NCO. (I) are sol. in the inert solvents used in the lacquer industry, they are crosslinking agents, in the presence of heat, for the prodn. of plastics (coatings) for OH gp. contg. condensates and/or polymers. They are partic. suitable for the prodn. of polyurethanes, esp. as adhesives and lacquers. Lacquers prepd. with (I) have partic. large filler uptake.
