The hot and cold mixing tap comprises a housing (1) with inlets for rotatable bush (5) has inlet ports for cold (6) and hot (7) water in its wall and a mixed water outlet (8) at its end. The inlet ports are rotationally offset for variable connection with the inlets as the bush rotates. A shut-off valve (9) is arranged in the housing between the bush outlet (8) and the housing outlet. The valve and the bush have separate operating handles (11, 10) which may be arranged on a common centre line (S).
