A drive motor and at least one limit switch are incorporated in the drive system for a roller shutter or venetian blind. A coupling has a torsional action. The limit switch responds to predetermined torsion between the components linked by the coupling. The switch can be mounted to switch off the motor when the blind attains its open position. The prevents the motor from being switched off too soon or too late, resulting in incomplete blind opening or in motor overloading.
