The holder secures a brake lining wear indicator to a brake housing, there being a bolt suspending the shoes and supporting the indicator. The switch housing of the latter has two switches actuated by the shoes, and is an independent unit secured by a snap connection. The housing of the indicator (1) fits by means of the snap connection on the top of a flat support plate (6), whose ends are bent over to form clips (6, 7) fitting over the bolt (10). Length and width of the plate are such as to fit closely in the opening in the housing accommodating the bolt and the shoes (9). The switch components (4, 5) of the indicator extend through mating opening in the plate into the paths of the shoes.
