PURPOSE:To make the strength of one-side welded joints equal to that of the case of both-side welding, considerably reduce the number of manufacturing steps and achieve rationalization of work by providing notches partially to the specified bonding portions of the ends of main members at the time of welding frameworks of sheets to themselves. CONSTITUTION:At the time of welding the main member 1 of the framework and a sheet sub-member 2, notches 9 are provided at the bonding portions of the flange 3 and web 4 of the end part of the main member 1 of larger load distribution and welding from one side of the members with the crack-producing part of the joint is performed from one side. In this way, the weld zone 8' similar to that when welding 8 from the other side done is produced and the end face is surely fusion-welded. As a result, the number os welding steps may be reduced to 1/2 that of both-side welding. This method is particularly effective when welding from the other side is infeasible. |
