A light sensitive photo diode has a semiconductor substrate embedded in a light transparent housing. The device detects incident horizontal or infrared light. There are two parallel conductors (4, 5) running along one side of the housing and making contact with the semiconductor substrate. They are in a plane parallel to the light sensitive surface side of the substrate. The housing is constructed as an i.r. filter. It is made with a plastics cap (9) which can be adjusted relative to the contact strips. |
