Mfr. of plastics, metal or wooden, building components, and profiles from flat sheets, by folding (or rolling) comprises cutting sheets to size; introducing into a conveyor installation; trimming; automatically applying adhesive tapes in readiness for the next operational step which is machining grooves, in >=1 step, such grooves extending in several pre-determined directions as necessary; automatically applying adhesive into the resulting grooves; and introducing the semi-finished prod. into a folding installation fitted with rollers and other appropriate supplementary means or accessories. The adhesive tapes are applied near the zone(s) where the grooves are subsequently machined. The grooves are V- or U- or otherwise profiled grooves. The adhesive is a rapidly setting glue. Profiles up to 6 m. long can be mfd.
