PURPOSE:To improve traveling property and durability by holding perfluoro polyether having specific long-chain alkylamides at the end of the molecule as a lubricant on a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The perfluoro polyether having long-chain alkylamides with >=12 carbons at the end of the molecule is applied as the lubricant on the magnetic layer. In general formula, R represents a long-chain alkyl group having >=12 carbons, Rf and Rf' represent perfluoro polyethers of monobasic acid and dibasic acid, respectively. The perfluoro polyether results in water-repellent property and low surface energy due to the fluoro groups and oil-film strength enhanced by the long-chain alkyl groups, so that the traveling property and durability of the medium are improved. |
