PURPOSE:To enhance the detection sensitivity by catching the scintillation caused by radiation gas simultaneously, disposing gas to be measured at the both sides of the scintillator and placing two photoelectric doublers around the scintillator. CONSTITUTION:Disc type plastic scintillator 3 is provided inside the cylinder shaped container 1. Gas chambers 4.4' are established at the both sides of the scintillator 3, and the gas to be measured is contrived to exist in both of the two chambers. Two photoelectric doublers 6.6' are disposed oppositely each other with scintillator 3 inbetween directly or via light guides 7.7'. The two photoelectric doublers 6.6' catch scintillation (flash) caused by radiation gas simultaneouly, signal thereof is delivered to the measuring apparatus.
