PAPER COATING COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, excellent in heat insulating and reserving properties, capable of reducing weight and useful for coated paper by blending thermally nonmelting carboxyl group-containing highly crosslinkable hollow polymer particles with a binder. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition obtained by blending thermally nonmelting carboxyl group-containing highly crosslinkable hollow polymer particles with >=80%, preferably >=90% content of portions insoluble in toluene (preferably 3-10wt.% concentration of a carboxyl group-containing monomer) (preferably having <=0.1g/10min melt flow rate under conditions of 200 deg.C and 10kgf/cm<2>) in an amount of 5-100 pts.wt., preferably 10-50 pts.wt. based on 20 pts.wt. binder (e.g. PVA or starch) therewith.
