PURPOSE:To prepare radioactive hot bath, from a trace of disintegrated products of a radioactive substance, by extracting a radioactive natural mineral or a radioactive compound with an aqueous solution of an organic acid. CONSTITUTION:A radioactive natural mineral [e.g. monazite: (ce, La, Y, Th) PO4], or a radioactive compound is immersed in an aqueous solution of an organic acid (e.g. succinic acid), if necessary, with stirring. A trace of disintegrated product is extracted with the solution, which is then diluted with a proper amount of hot water or cold water to obtain the radioactive hot bath, especially artificial radium bath. The extraction is pref. carried out at about 100 deg.C. |
