PURPOSE:To prepare a flame-retardant resin composition having short afterglow and free from melt dripping, by compounding polybutylene terephthalate, a flame- retardant, a flame-retardant assistant, CaSO4, glass fiber, and a specific polymer. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of polybutylene terephthalate having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5-1.5 dl/g, (B) 3-50 parts of an organo-halogen compound such as tetrabromoethane, chlorinated diphenyl, etc., as an lame-retardant, (C) 0.1-20 parts of a flame-retardant assistant such as Sb2O3, Al(OH)3, etc., (D) 5-100 parts of CaSO4, (E) 5-20 parts of glass fiber treated with a silane coupling agent and having a fineness of 0.005-0.02 mm and a length of 0.01-10 mm, and (F) 0-30 parts of one or more polymers selected from (a) a polyvinyl acetate saponificate having a polymerization degree of 300-3000 and a saponification degree of >=50 mol%, (b) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content of >=50wt% and a Mooney viscosity of 20 -70, and (c) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer saponificate having a vinyl acetate content of >=50wt%. |
