The cord is made of metal multi-wire flex attached to a sealing profile made of elastic material, such as rubber. The screening cord is preferably a fine wire screen wound in a multi-layer structure. Several such cords may be attached to a single elastic sealing profile. The screening cord and sealing profile are either bonded together or vulcanised. The advantage lies in simple fabrication and fitting and in reliable screening. The strip adjusts automatically to unevenness in the joined surfaces.
