<p>The stand for repairing car radiators which have the water chamber pressed on, has columns (2) on feet (4). The two columns are connected at the top by a cross head (3) carrying sets of pneumatic cylinders for various operations during the repair. When the radiator (13) is clamped between two opposing jaws operated by cylinders (11), piston ends (22) of cylinders (21) come into operation pressing down the top water chamber creating a gap between edge of the water chamber and the folded-over edge of the radiator body. A hook-like tool on a pneumatically operated device draws apart the folded-over edges and the water chamber can be lifted off. As access has been gained to the radiator inside the necessary repairs on the tube connections, such as expanding the tube ends is carried out by a special tool and the water chamber is replaced and the straightened edges folded over by another special tool.</p> |
